Barrett Transitional Home in Hampton Roads, VA

... is a "24/7" womens issues shelter designed to break the cycle of being homeless in Virginia Beach for single women.

The women we serve have nowhere to live for reasons of underemployment, unemployment, bad credit, rape, abuse, domestic violence and addiction, are unable to work while pregnant, or not being supported by family or the baby's father. Barrett Transitional Home provides a safe house in Hampton Roads for those women to recover.

We believe that women heal most deeply from their crisis through active education, training and full-time employment to become self-sufficient, independent and healthy contributors to our community.

The rebuilding process is gradual because the traumas were violent and horrifying. The ultimate results of our efforts are glorious.
